Problem: Cannot download export file
Description: Export functionality does not work in Internet Explorer, when logged into a Windows Server 2012 machine using Enhanced Security Configuration (default).
Cause: To improve the user experience, both P2 Explorer and P2 Server’s export mechanisms download the file with JavaScript before making it available to the browser. The Enhanced Security Configuration prevents downloading files that are generated from JavaScript, even when the website is added to the Trusted Zone in Internet Explorer.
Workaround: There are 3 possible workarounds to this issue.
- Use a client machine on the network, instead of a Windows Server 2012 machine, to perform the export.
- Download and install another supported browser, such as Google Chrome, onto the Windows Server 2012 machine and use it to do the export.
- Temporarily disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration on the Windows Server 2012 machine.
