P2 Sentinel 4.10 removes the dependency on Silverlight technology, allowing Sentinel to be a standalone application.
The new version of P2 Sentinel is based on Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), which is a highly efficient, stable, and browser independent technology which has been used in software applications for many years. It provides a rich user experience as a desktop application and does not require Silverlight support, which will be withdrawn by Microsoft in October 2021.
Following installation, Sentinel 4.10 will be deployed by launching the application from a URL. The user interface will be exactly the same as previous versions of Sentinel, so any re-training for users will be kept to a minimum.
In future versions, the reporting functionality will be moved to P2 Explorer.
Compatibility with P2 Explorer
P2 Sentinel 4.10 is compatible with P2 Explorer 4.9.5 or later.
Create a Specific Case from Sentinel
When using Sentinel to raise a case, as part of Case options you can now select a Case Type. The Case Type list is populated with all of the Explorer case forms.
In addition, pre-processing rules will work on cases raised from Sentinel.
Sentinel Email Message Length Increase
The length of emails is no longer limited to 5000 characters. This enables you to send rich HTML emails, taking advantage of the HTML format option.
