Shift Log Release 4.21

Shift Log version 4.21 includes:

  • Improved form configuration sync to Explorer.
  • Italic styling for draft entries in related tables.
  • Comment category support in workbook display information.

Note: Before upgrading, always make sure your Environment has met Explorer minimum hardware requirements, as these are constantly evolving as additional capabilities are added.

Improved Forms Configuration Sync to Explorer

The Reset Workbooks functionality in Server Management was limited to refreshing forms in Shift Log and Explorer only when new fields were added. Changes to existing fields, such as updates to default values, were not reflected.

With this enhancement, we have improved the sync process so that any change made to a form, whether it’s adding a new field or modifying an existing one, is now fully synced into Shift Log and Explorer. Clicking the refresh icon in the entry table editor now retrieves the latest form configuration from Server Management, ensuring Explorer and Shift Log reflects the most current setup.

Italic Styling for Draft Entries in Related Entry Table

Italic styling has been applied to draft entries displayed in the Related Entries table.

When users add and save a case as a draft, it now appears in italics under related cases for the same entity name, making draft entries visually distinct and easier to identify.

Comment Categories in Display Information of Workbooks

The comments feature in Display Information for Workbooks now supports selecting a category when adding a comment. This is the same functionality that is already available for pages and trends.

Users can select a category, sourced from the ‘sys.CommentCategory’ named list, with ‘General’ set as the default. Categories that are disabled or restricted based on user permissions will not appear in the list.

When opening the Display Information, previously added comments are displayed along with their respective categories.
