Sentinel Processes

IFS OI Sentinel monitors entities and tags from Explorer for compliance with specified thresholds, using a built-in event processing engine. This series of articles explain the available Sentinel processes in detail and how they work.

Alarm Process
Testing continuous data for a monitor item against high and low limits.

Min Max Process
Testing continuous data for a monitor item against a maximum and a minimum limit.

Discrete Min Max Process
Testing discrete data for a monitor item against a maximum and minimum limit.

Digital State Process
Evaluating different state pairs of the monitor item, which will be in one of two states.

Drift Detection Process
The deviation between process variable data (inputs) and a reference input.

Logic Process
Independently evaluates up to four different inputs, each with its own limits and offsets.

Performance Curve Process
Compares process variable data against limits and conditions that are defined by a performance curve.

Process Variable Surveillance Process
Compares process variable data against defined limits and conditions.

Steady State Detection Process
Evaluates up to four separate data inputs to determine whether the asset under surveillance has reached a steady state.

Stuck Value Process
Determines whether test data remains the same for longer than a specified duration.
